Break From Governance Posts...the iPAD cases that I like!

iWell I decided to take a break from the Governance posts but not for long, just to put interesting stuff up here, I want to share two iPAD cases that I love...sorry like...like and so far the only two that have impressed me are Twelvesouth's BookBook & Dodocase. There are thousands out there but these two give a good old book feel.

Check out first:
http://twelvesouth.com/products/bookbook_ipad/

This one really looks like you are helping the cause of antique or collector books but you are secretly hiding a iPAD. This is the same company that makes the well known BookArc for the macbook pro and the iPad.

The other one is the well known San Francisco maker:

If you want a good leather folio moleskin look that is sturdy and good looking even when it stands this one's for you.

Both cases are leather and look really cool. They are priced at $69.99 and $59.95. The price though little steep is worth it for its very clean and classic looks. The one advantage with the dodocase is the wood casing inside. Makes it a little bit sturdier when it stands, just a point I thought that made it a better choice between the two but all five stars for both in looks.

Tweet which one you like of the top two? Let me know.

Innovation...Is About Thinking Out of The Box!

Innovation comes in different forms/flavors and fall into different categories. Talking about categories some of them fall into expensive ones while others stare jeeringly from opposite spectrum of the price band. I love it when new product design and innovations falls in the least expensive category because more people can afford it and from the business perspective you can make much more money. Didn't Swatch the in-expensive watch maker take control over expensive brand watch companies?. Also on a different note though the automobile's internal combustion engine is a marvelous invention, the windshield wiper is an equally innovating invention that has saved millions of lives in tough weather situations.

Well today's review is on iPad stands. One of them, called the 'Joule', has the whopping sticker price of $129 and the other one, merely $0.69, was discovered by New York Time multimedia editor Andrew Devignal who picked up the cheap plastic card holder and converted it into an iPad stand. Creative ideas and innovation at its best...

The fancy-schmancy expensive 'Joule' looks nice, though...I am not going to spend $129...will gladly let the makers of 'Joule' be on their jolly good way to file chapter 11 for a dumb pricing model.

Cheers,

What the iPad should have been?

Almost two weeks ago the Steve Jobs introduced the iPad, all the speculations and the almost two year frenzy of expectation, rumors and what it will be came to an end with this beautiful product launch. Though priced a little high, lets cut to the chase before the praise at the end of the day its merely a giant ipod touch. From the form factor point of view I like the product but am thoroughly disappointed especially after keeping tabs on 'Microsoft Courier'. If you haven't seen that one I have included a video for your right here.

So my takes of what the the iPad should have been. From the video above you may have guessed it right away, dual screen that closed as a portflio file would have been cool with features of flicking things from one screen to another of utomost importance. At least 128 GB starting solid state hard drive with options that would upto at least 1TB, a minimum of 5 mega pixel camera and ability to make video conferencing calls and some really cool software to do the magic video meeting well. I can dream Apple can't I? Ports that can connect to video camera's and all the the good wireless connectivities.

From the business point of view, Apple did take a gamble at pricing it at $499 but analysts say they did it with a wiggle room of bringing down the prices in new feature releases to $199 but we all know how Apple plays the game but to begin with they should have started off with some basic stuff and left the industry behind...aren't they supposedly famed for doing that...I am now beginning to wonder!

What is a Vector Database?
